WHAT IS STAR TRAINING?
Star training is advanced training that focuses directly on skill and technical development. It is intended for young players who are eager for challenge and ambitious to learn and advance through the sport of soccer. Each session is a one and a half hour focused training session on technique, fundamental skill, soccer functional coordination and balance, foot to eye coordination, and motor skill development. The one hour training session will involve many touches, movements, and body coordination exercises that help the player improve on the intricacies of the game, the subtle movements that are necessary and required for advanced play at older ages.
HEAD INSTRUCTOR – COACHING STAFF
Head instructor will be WSA Academy Technical Director, Alex McLaurin. Alex played college soccer at Oral Roberts University and grew up playing, observing and watching the game in the German Youth Academy system. Other attendee coaches will include WSA Staff, college players, professional players, and college coaches. All staff will have extensive instructional and playing experience. WSA will also employ the services of our Big Brother/Big Sister mentor program using older WSA teams as "counselors" for instruction.
