The undersigned parent and player fully understand and agree to the following:

  • Selection to a WSA soccer team comes with high standards and high expectations. WSA players are expected to invest and commit their efforts toward improvement as a soccer player, teammate, and person at standards of a highly competitive athlete and highly motivated person.
  • Selection to the team the subsequent year and playing time this year is not guaranteed and players will be evaluated by the WSA coaching staff using highly competitive standards in the areas of fitness, physical ability, tactical understanding, technical ability, mental competitiveness, leadership and attitude.
  • Selection to WSA for the 2011-2012 year carries with it the obligation to remain on the team the entire year unless granted a release by your WSA coach.   It is also understood that WSA players are expected to give WSA coaches the courtesy of notifying them if they are being recruited or pursued by other teams or if they are considering leaving our club to play for another club. This courtesy is expected to continue until the player is released from the WSA roster.
  • Being released from the WSA roster does not constitute a release of the parent/player from past, current or future financial obligations to the WSA team/club. A release from financial commitment and obligation is with sole approval of the WSA Board of Directors.  Parents and/or players are required to maintain current financial standings with WSA and their respective teams. Failure to maintain current financial standings will begin with discussion of this delinquency with parent/player up to suspension/dismissal from the team/club. Unforeseen and unpredictable circumstances are understood to arise and will be taken into consideration by the WSA Board of Directors.
  • WSA players/parents are committed to full participation in team activities including leagues, tournaments, and other team events that are set forth by WSA coaches at periodic team-parent meetings throughout the year. It is understood that the only exceptions to the above will be when WSA coaches receive prior notification of the player’s absence and that the reason for lack of participation is acceptable. Players are expected to responsibly forecast their schedule and communicate with their team coach about any issues relevant to their participation in team activities.
  • WSA parents understand the majority of the club’s labor force is volunteer based, and parent help is expected. Parents and players understand that the WSA club operates on the premise of player and parent participation in the WSA program activities which shall include, but are not limited to, the parent’s and player’s participation in the WSA Cup, WSA Round Robin, concession duties, club fundraisers, field preparation, etc.
  • WSA is a club competing ultimately for a state championship and will require of players, and at times parents, the hard work, dedication, sacrifice, and devotion that always accompanies the pursuit of a lofty goal.
  • WSA is a competitive soccer club striving to be highly competitive at the regional and national level, and that players are expected to train and prepare at such a level.
  • Players and parents trust that WSA coaches will do what is necessary and in the best interest of the team in preparing the team for the field of play and creating a memorable and lifelong learning experience for the player. It is further understood that players and parents have the utmost confidence in the WSA coaching staff to make decisions regarding training, style and method of play, match day line-ups, match day tactical adjustments, team discipline, and team planning.
  • Players and parents will represent WSA at all events with the highest level of sportsmanship and conduct. WSA embraces the idea that parent example of conduct, behavior, and healthy choices is considered important in role modeling for our youth. Parents are expected to accept the responsibility of role model as important and significant in the atmosphere we create for our kids. Players are expected to prioritize sportsmanship.
  • Finally it is understood that WSA expects players to maintain a high level of commitment not only in the soccer arena, but in the classroom, and within the community as well. WSA strives to produce good soccer players and good people. WSA expects every player to participate in an annual Community Action Program (CAP) project.

This contract is binding for the entire 2011-2012 GCSA competitive soccer year from June 27, 2011 until the 2012 deadline for competitive team formation set by GCSA. WSA coaches have committed to taking players on the team only under the terms of this contract. If the contract is broken by a WSA player, WSA coaches reserve the right, under the rules for team discipline, of the GCSA Standing Resolutions, to release

The undersigned have read and understand the terms of this contract.
