FORMAT: 4v4 NO Goalkeepers

SANCTIONING: US Club Soccer Open Event (open to USYSA, US Club, AYSO, or any USSF affiliate)

COST: $200 per team

FIELD/BALL/GOAL: Customary recommendations by US Youth Soccer

MATCH LENGTH: 2 X 20 minute halves

GAMES: Guaranteed minimum 3 games

LOCATION/DATE/SCORING/ADVANCING/TROPHIES: Same as WSA Cup Rules

GUEST PLAYERS: Up to 3 allowed

ROSTER: US Club Soccer or US Youth Soccer Rosters accepted

TEAMS/DIVISIONS: We will attempt to form "pure" divisions of u7 and u8.  If there are not enough U7 teams they will play in the u8 division. There will be a boys and girls division, and where called for gold, silver, and bronze divisions (please specify on your application your preference).  Coed teams will be scheduled into the "boys divisions".  

 U7 & U8 RULE CLARIFICATIONS:

1.     The u7 & u8 divisions will play 4-a-side with a maximum roster size of 8 players including guest players

2.     Age appropriate sized fields and goals will be used.

3.     No goalkeepers allowed.  There will be a “goaltending” box in front of each goal in which players encouraged to not stand (revised, no goaltending rule will apply).  Players may enter the area if the ball enters the area.  If the ball comes to rest inside the area it is considered “in play”.  Coaches are encourage to not allow players to "stand or reside" in the area.  

4.     NOTE THIS RULE WILL NOT BE APPLIED TO 2011 WSA CUP: There will be “goaltending line” approximately 7-9 yards from the endline.  ALL players from the attacking team must be beyond the “goaltending line” for a goal to be awarded.  THERE WILL BE NO GOALTENDING LINE.  

5.     In the event of penalty kicks to determine a tiebreaker of a match or standings, the spot kick will be taken from the half line of the field within the center circle.  The shot will be “uncontested” (no goalkeeper or defender allowed).
