WSA CLUB CHAMPIONS 2019 RED RIVER NPL

West Side Alliance S.C. claimed the 2018-2019 Red River National Premier League Club Championship, recently announced by the Red River NPL.

Over 20 clubs competed in the Regional Based league during the 2018-2019 season, in the league for elite teams from the 13U to 19U age divisions in boys and girls.  The league's geography spanned Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Kansas, and Louisiana.   WSA Soccer tallied 700 points to steer ahead of Red River Club Runner-Up Liverpool (525 points) and Fever United (400 points) in the club race.

Clubs who earned points in the Red River NPL club competition included a list of premier level clubs in this region of the country: Solar SC, Sporting Arkansas, Arkansas Comets, NTX Celtic, FC Dallas, TSC Hurricane, South Lakes Cosmos, Dallas Sting, CIty FC, NEOFC, MSC Real Arkansas, OK Celtic, Shreveport United, Revolution, Arkansas United.

"The Club recognition is great for WSA. It demonstrates a depth of talented teams, and also that the club is performing across the full spectrum of ages and gender," reports Club DOC, Ryan Bush.

"Achievements such as this are not end points for our program," reports club senior technical director, Alex McLaurin, "They are great milestones that represent a benchmark of growth."

As the 2018-2019 season wrapped up WSA had captured 6 of the regular season championships, across the 12 age/gender divisions in the regional based league Red River Conference.  As the league continues to grow and develop, the competition structure also is improving rapidly.

"The Red River NPL concept has been an endeavor by several partnering clubs and their leaders.  The leadership and operative model for the leauge has been great.  We are excited as a club organization for it's continued growth both in terms of geographic diversity and also in terms of competition standards," reports WSA DOC, Roger Bush.

In it's second year, the Red River NPL captured two National Titles in the ENPL/NPL national tournament series as Cosmos 01 Girls and WSA 00 Boys both claimed national prominence.  Other Red River NPL teams competed into the National Cup, the "Cup-Based" national platform, and continued to represent the league well there.

Congratulations to all WSA players, parents, and staff for a great 2018-2019 year!
