 WSA ANNOUNCES NEW LEADERSHIP INFRASTRUCTURE

     Roger and Ryan Bush have recently taken the helm of ORU men’s and women’s soccer programs.  ORU’s Athletic Department announced the hiring of the Bush Brothers on April 26, 2013. The transition has initiated some rapid change at The Side, including the assignment of new Director roles.  Roger Bush remains the club’s DOC, Ryan Bush the "ADOC", and the club has begun the assignment of other "Directors".

     "This change has been on the horizon for some time," reports WSA Director of Coaching, Roger Bush.  "The ORU transition has simply sped it up.  We are actually a stronger leadership front now with the addition of several in-house staff to "director" roles."  

      A membership base that is growing rapidly, the acquisition of new land space, tripling maintenance requirements, and new programming on the agenda for 2013-14 all prompted the need for a larger leadership base.  Future plans also include the potential hiring of a part/full time office manager and groundskeeper.  

     The club chose to remain in-house for the hiring of the new "director" positions.  "WSA is a unique program, serving a unique demographic and a unique mission.  It’s very important to us that those who serve are connected intimately to our demographic, our history, and understand our mission.  There is nothing more intimate than living the mission. Each of the directors has coached for multiple years in the program and has a great sense and feel for our goals, direction, and service mission," reports Roger Bush.  

     In fact most of the new directors played for West Side Alliance as youth players, strengthening the bonds and ties to the club’s overall vision and goals.  The new structure, represented below, is still in flux and is not yet "finalized".  

     "It’s been somewhat of a whirlwind the past month, hosting a 200-team tournament, taking over college programs, restructuring the youth program, and managing our new facilities, have all kept things busy. But we expect this summer to have launched ourselves anew.  There is no landing point for us.  We are busy brainstorming what is next to build and how to accomplish it.  Our players and kids continue to inspire and energize us towards those lofty ambitions," Bush sums up.
