Semi-Professional and Top National League Exposure

WSA connections stretch far and wide each Fall when the college season kicks off and this past summer, WSA players began making splashes in local and regional semiprofessional leagues.

The Tulsa Athletics recently completed an undefeated season in the NPSL South Central Division, claiming the Division Championship.  The team was anchored by Offensive MVP Johnny Chavez, WSA 92 alumni.  WSA Coach Brian McCurdy contributed in the midfield, while WSA Coach Wayne Farmer, anchored the center defense for the Athletics.  Tyrell Jackson and Alex Tiem, both WSA 92 alumni were also members of the Division champion team.

Sammie Doenninck (WSA 92 Boys), captain of his NCAA College team at Liberty, is currently playing in the NPSL’s Premiere Development League and his squad has advanced to the Quarterfinal stages of post season to be contested this weekend, July 27-28.

Sara Seals (pictured in dark top in photo to left) is a member of the Tulsa Spirt Women’s semi-professional team, led by Coach Ali Adibi.  Even though still in high school, Sara has started a few games and supplied some significant minutes for the Spirt this past season.  Sara currently plays for the WSA 97 Girls.
