NEARLY 100 FROM YOUTH ACADEMY PARTICIPATE IN ANNUAL DUTCH 4v4 EVENT

Academy Director, Barry Roberts, staged the annual Dutch 4v4 Tournament this past weekend at WSA's Rivercity Parks.  Approximately 100 kids registered for the event.  

The Dutch 4v4 event randomly draw players into assorted teams.  After each round every team's score was recorded and each players individual statistics (wins, losses, draws, goals scored, and goals against) were tracked.  The event provided a great opportunity for players from various teams and age divisions to interact with each other, and play soccer.  

The Dutch 4v4 concept originated a few decades back.  The random assortment of players onto teams, then the reassortment after each round, allows players to play with new and different players, and against new and different opponents in a short period of time.  

The process has been used to help in player development, the 4v4 model which produces almost every fundamental principal of play, and also in player identification and selection processes at the professional level.  The main objective this past weekend at Rivercity was FUN and FOOTBALL!
