Director of Coaching - Von Brinkley

Bio:

Von Brinkley is the director of coaching overseeing the executive functions of the club in addition to coaching development for our own coaches as well as our partnership at Yukon Soccer Club. Since starting the club in OKC with just a few teams, the club continues to experience significant growth under his leadership. Dozens of his players have been able to reach their goals of playing at the next level. In addition, he remains the coach of the Side FC 92 OKC women’s WPSL team that many of the WSA OKC girls and alumni play on today. Von also serves as head coach of the Oklahoma Oblivion MASLW.

Bio: 

Phil Perkins played at Central Christian College in McPherson, Kansas in the late 1990's. After transferring to Oklahoma State University, he began his now 18 year coaching career as the assistant coach at Stillwater High School for the boys varsity program. He has coached recreational soccer as well as in the Academy at Edmond Soccer Club. Since joining WSA OKC, he started the 2008 girls team as well as lead the 2008 girls in their inaugural season in ECNL - Regional League. In addition to the 2009 ECNL-RL girls team, he coaches the 2014 pre-ECNL-RL girls currently ranked in the top 5 in the state. Phil has been married to his wife Jaime for over 22 years and they have two daughters, both who play at WSA.

Bio:

Having grown up in Mustang, Chris began playing soccer at Yukon Soccer Club at the age of 7 before playing competitive and high school soccer. Now coaching in the same place where he grew and developed, he has the ability to carry on that legacy and contribute to the next generation of players, including his daughters and son. In addition to his WSA leadership and coaching role, Chris also serves as the administrator and assistant coach for Side FC 92 OKC of the WPSL. 

Chris's believes in building environments where creativity, confidence and learning are encouraged, while emphasizing thoughtful decision-making, problem solving and personal growth.

 

 

Boys Director - Jimmy Ferlaino

Bio:

Jimmy Ferlaino is the Boys Director. Jimmy’s focus will be solely focused on growing and developing our player and boys coaching staff. In addition, Jimmy remains an assistant coach on Side FC 92 OKC of the WPSL as well as assistant coach of the Oklahoma Oblivion of the MASLW.

Bio: 

Kim Castellanos played her club soccer at Challenge Soccer Club in Houston, Texas before going on to play at St Gregory's University in Shawnee, Oklahoma. After wrapping up her playing career, Kim began her coaching journey. With over 17 years of experience, Kim has coached at Southlakes Soccer Club and Sporting Oklahoma before joining WSA OKC.

Bio:

Growing up in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Matheus began playing soccer at 4 years old. At the age of 18, he signed his first professional contract with Associacao Portuguesa de Desporto. In 2015, he moved to Oklahoma to play soccer at Southwestern Christian University. During his time at SCU, he won multiple conference First Team Player of the Year awards, Most Outstanding Player award for NCCAA D1 Nationals and was elected All American for United Soccer Coaches. His Eagles team went on to win 3 NCCAA D1 National titles in a row. He also played for Tulsa Athletics, Dutch Lions FC, Imps 1889 FC and Torch FC throughout the summers.

Matheus began his coaching career in 2017 first with various Academy teams before moving into competitive teams. He currently coaches multiple teams in the state and regional level.

Bio: 
Brett Thomas has a vast playing experience from U-23 National Championship Semifinalist, NCAA D1 at Western Illinois University and NCAA D2 at Metropolitan State College of Denver before playing professionally in the Premier Development League (PDL), United Soccer League (USL) and Premier Arena Soccer League (PASL). Brett's hard work as a youth lead to an expansive playing career that has translated equally to his coaching career. His coaching experience reflects very similar to his playing career. With stints in the PDL and PASL, Brett has been with WSA OKC for over 6 years now coaching multiple boys and girls teams in addition to his technical leadership role where he works with our coaches and players on development strategies. Brett is married to his wife Andrea and they have 2 boys, both of which play at WSA OKC.

Bio:

With over 14 years of coaching experience, Brad Brucker joined the technical director role for WSA in 2024. Prior to that he's been coaching with WSA on the boys and girls side since 2020. When not coaching at WSA, Brad teaches and coaches at Piedmont High School where he led the Varsity girls team to a state championship in 2023. Brad played soccer at Southern Nazareen University.
