WSA UNVEILS KINSEY WRIGHT ELITE GIRLS TRAINING CENTER

Tulsa, OK  -- WSA Soccer has announced a landmark decision to add our Beloved Kinsey Wright's namesake and message to our newly released concept, The Elite Girls Training Center.

"We are incredibly humbled and deeply moved by WSA’s desire to name this facility in honor of Kinsey. This gesture reflects the very heart of West Side Alliance—a club that not only develops skilled athletes, but also shapes strong character and lasting relationships. While Kinsey grew as a player here, it was the leadership and coaches of this organization who helped instill in her the values that defined who she was both on and off the field," stated Mr & Mrs Damon and Krista Wright.

The facility, which is the product of a braintrust of coaches, helps achieve new standards for training at WSA Soccer.  Years of feedback, thought, and input was compiled to create the model training facility concept to serve the modern and current WSA Player.

The multi-phase project will include 4 lit, full-sized fields, with surface upgrades, that will include perimeter fencing, WSA Girls Clubhouse/Lounge area with a dedicated team film room, and a dedicated women's restroom.

Kinsey's "Trust God" messaging will be represented throughout with a pink undertone, reflecting Kinsey's favorite color.  Coach Preston speculates the facility will become the hub of "celebrations with lots of cookies".  One of Kinsey's favorite pastimes was baking for others, and enjoying her share as well.

The concept was approved last year, and the first phases of the build process were put in place last year.  During last summer (2024) new irrigation lines were added to fields, plumbing and electrical repairs took place to enhance restrooms and field lighting, parking lot re-paving was completed, in addition to several other repairs on the West Bank training grounds. These steps brought the facility into a ready position for an extended build out this summer.

During "Focus on the Future" Town Hall Meetings this past winter, the concept was revealed.  At that time the facility concept was taking on the name "WSA Girls Elite Training Center".   The WSA Girls program committed to raise the funds through grassroots efforts to develop and bring to life the concept.

As the club continues to move efforts of the
Field of Dreams project forward, a Kinsey Wright soccer field became part of that plan.  As the staging for Field of Dreams continues, Kinsey's name will be part of the first field built within the Field of Dreams masterplan.  The Field of Dreams is the club's vision to build a multi-million dollar, world-class event and training center.

Recently through thoughtful and prayerful consideration club leaders agreed that the WSA Elite Girls Training Center, that is being built now as part of the current West Bank Sports Complex, should bear the namesake and message of Kinsey Wright, our Beloved Guardian of the Light, WSA Alumnus of the 2008 Girls.

Henceforth this facility will be called the Kinsey Wright Elite Training Center. Many assets of the facility, including Kinsey's namesake and message, lights, Wright's Light, and other material assets, will become transferable assets to the Field of Dreams.

Concept of WSA Girls Lounge & Clubhouse projected to be a Phase II build, which would be transferable to the Field of Dreams.

Coach Preston Wiruth expressed the significance of this step to honor Kinsey,
"The investments and naming of the Kinsey Wright Elite Training Center reflects and expands the monumental impact that Kinsey Wright continues to have in all of our lives.  As an organization, WSA was so blessed through its time with her."

"As a goalkeeper at WSA, Kinsey regularly made saves in the dirt.  With these investments, future generations will train at best in class facilities, and eventually on top level turf.  Most importantly, by carrying her namesake, this training facility will spread her message and perpetuate her legacy."

"As a player Kinsey Wright overcame injury and worked incredibly hard to pursue her goals.  As a teammate she lifted up others, even when she was competing with them," Coach Wiruth relayed.

The facility will now bear Kinsey's name, very importantly her message: "Trust God", and will be outfitted to remind us of Kinsey's personhood and spirit each night at our training ground.

"As a friend she was kind, warm, and a shoulder others could cry on.  As a person she was a teenager with deep faith, as expressed by her custom cleats that said, "Trust" on the left, and "God" on the right.  This message from Kinsey, to Trust God, continues to guide us as we continue to play the game she loved,"
continued Coach Wiruth.

"Kinsey Wright was a guardian and protector by nature, and we see now that she was guarding something far more precious than the goal.  We are reminded that the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.  Kinsey guarded that Truth, and reflected that Light.  It is therefore only fitting that the training facility that will carry her namesake will have a 24 hour illumination."

Wright's Light will be the "always on" light at West Bank Sports Complex.
This asset will be transferable to the Field of Dreams and is expected to be
part of Phase I of the Kinsey Wright Elite Training Center.

The targeted first opening of the Phase I completion of the Kinsey Wright Elite Girls Training Center is August 1, 2025, in time for preseason training for the WSA Girls program for 2025-2026.  The project will continue to be developed and built in phases, to serve the WSA Athlete, and to honor and magnify the Life and Legacy of Kinsey Wright.

Mr & Mrs Wright further shared, "Knowing that her legacy will continue to shine through this facility, inspiring others to lead with heart, determination, and kindness, brings us comfort and hope."

"From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for carrying her light forward."
